" As a seasoned professional and licensed therapist, I was ill-prepared to deal with living with an alcoholic husband for 17 years and as a parent of two adult addicts. The program of recovery gave me my life back and I am privileged to be able to share my help, experience and hope with others. For many of us this is not only a job, but our
" I am a former New Yorker who found her way to San Antonio, Texas many years ago and am glad I did. I have worked in the field of drug abuse and dependency for 11 years and have been a licensed chemical dependency counselor for 7 years. During this time, I have worked with various chemically dependent populations that have included men, women, and adolescents, some of which have been involved with the criminal justice system and child protective services. I have been on both sides of the addiction nightmare and am forever grateful to be able to help others who are struggling to get their lives back."
" A Chicagoan at heart, here I am in Boerne, Texas and there is no other place I’d rather be! Originally, I thought we moved to Texas for my husband’s career, but God quickly pointed out that I was brought here to be connected with Covenant Hills Treatment Center. I had no idea of the blessings that were in store for me!
I grew up in a family where alcoholism, addiction and the dysfunction that arises from it were the norm. I knew from an early age that something wasn’t right, but I also knew no other way. Working as a case manager at Covenant Hills, I have the opportunity to help the women by sharing my own life experience, strength and hope. I am also blessed to continue with my own personal growth, as I learn valuable lessons from these ladies each and every day. I am inspired to see the lengths they are willing to go to begin the healing process of recovery and the passion of the staff who by example, lead them there. I feel incredibly blessed to be a small part of their journey."
" Formerly an elementary school teacher and executive in the corporate world, at age 54 I had to close a business and decide what to do. When looking on the internet, a job at a new treatment center kept popping up. With 19 years as a recovering alcoholic, I know when God is speaking to me. The process could not have been more clear if God had said “Apply here!” I went back to school, which I had previously told God I would never do, to obtain credentials needed to be a case manager at Covenant Hills. I love sharing my experience, strength and hope of a strong recovery program with newcomers every day. It feeds my soul. We must give it away in order to keep it."

I entered the Al-Anon program in 1983 as a result of living with a third generation alcoholic for 24 years. That program saved my life mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Now in these later years, I find it continues to assist me in my relationships with grown sons as well as grandchildren, not to mention my own issues as they present themselves.
I continue to praise God for the blessings of working with this outstanding staff."
